Dr. Leveda Cheng

Former graduate student

Leveda Cheng received her MSc in Evolutionary and Comparative Psychology at the University of St Andrews in 2011. She is broadly interested in the evolution of primate social behaviour. Specifically, she is interested in understanding the evolutionary pressures that have shaped variation in intergroup behaviour. For her PhD project, she uses wild bonobos as a comparative model and combine behavioural and endocrinological data to explore potential physiological mechanisms underlying different behavioural strategies males and females adopt during intergroup encounters.
